Everything we see has many layers, many stories. Faces show dreams, illusions, history, stories, lies and truths. That is why i love painting in layers of different materials that sometimes contradict each other in color, texture or form. It makes painting complicated, but that is what i think life is; a complicated and multi layered thing, that has itself experienced in intense feelings
I used to be a victim of my compassion. How i love to watch how people survive struggles and in the process ignite their deeply hidden potential! You can see all kinds of strong emotions in the faces and figures on my canvases. Recently there has been a shift though. From suffering to surrender, from victim to victory. The new world is opening its creases to eager eyes. I witness how a new reality unfolds, brush and spray can at hand. The paintings that are a result of this new view are a surprise, even for me.
