STREET ART ARTE URBANA
Laura Tietjens has been wanting to make street art for years, but apart from legal walls, one needs more than a little money to buy aerosols of spray paint. Despite the looks of it, graffiti seems to be an art that can only be done by people who have enough money. Now that Laura sells enough of her paintings, money is available to be spent on this fantastic form of modern art. Foremost, it gives the feeling of freedom, painting in the street under the sun, knowing that your painting can be sprayed over within the day.
Urban art, street art, is the new hype in the art world, reflecting the speed of life and the rapid change of images in social media and on the internet. It stands in stark contrast to the static exhibitions in posh galleries that are frequented by the rich elite only. Street art belongs to everybody and on the free walls everybody can put his artistic comment to what the former painter made.
